I am replacing my clutch release bearing support. I ordered it from Rock Auto. The tab is located farther back on the new one compared to the old one.

The one on the left is the new one, tab farther back (up in picture) compared to one on right. Which one is correct?
(Sorry for small image size. How do I post a larger image?) _________________ Danny L. Harris

Sorry Wes, I still don't see how to post a link to the full size picture from my album.
I have a copy of that manual on CD, I looked at that figure previously and it's pretty small and blurry, so I cant' quite make it out.
I'll try again: _________________ Danny L. Harris

The one on the left looks like the one RFJP sells-

Kendall, I looked Joe's parts up:
Even though his part numbers aren't the actual Willys part numbers the casting number in the picture is the Willys casting number. _________________ 1951 M38

I really just wanted to replace the bearing because it was slinging grease inside bell housing. Rock Auto had a good deal on bearing already installed on support. The tab on new one from Rock Auto is too far back, spring is too long fully collapsed. I intend to order a release bearing from Midwest Military because theirs looks to be fully sealed. Both of the ones I have are open towards the front side and therefore can sling grease. I believe the old support came with the clutch kit that I installed in 2009 when I rebuilt the transmission. The spring has good tension and I have had no problems with clutch, probably has less than 3000 miles on it.

Old carrier has 8 on top and Made In USA on bottom, nothing on new one. _________________ Danny L. Harris

It looks loose because it is just sitting on the tranny attach point for the picture, the tab on carrier or support is too far aft for the spring to hook up on the transmission and support at the same time. Looking at RFJP spring and Midwest military spring versus one I have the number of coils is the same at 10 each. _________________ Danny L. Harris
