Hello,
I had the engine in my M38A1 rebuilt. I need to find out how to time the engine. The distributor was out when the engine was rebuilt and the hole was taped over, I put the distributor back in for safe keeping not worried where it was. So what do I have to do to get the distributor in the correct place as well.
Paul,
If you go to our "Downloads Section" you can download a complete copy of how to set the distributor up.
Be prepaed by noting that the cam has a gear that turns the oil pump. The oil pump has an offset slot in it that the distributor shaft will slide into only one way.So distributor timing starts with oil pump installation. _________________ Wes K
