None of the springs are broken, just rusty. They had a double layer of vinyl over the original canvas so it was protected thus prolonging their life. There is a small tear in the bottom canvas and small holes on the top but they have a good petina, if you will, to them. The bottom cover I thought was faded, but its just not waxy where the top sat against it. The top still has the horsehair but I would add to it. The bottom has a piece carpet and foam pad under the cover that is over the springs.
I think they would look great on a seasoned restore project.
