I made a promise to a Korean War veteran ,80+ years old, to drive him and his grandaughter in a 4th of July parade in Apple Valley, Mn. and today my 52 M38 blew a connecting rod bearing!! Is there anyone in this area that could take my place in the parade?

Help,
Bob

John Bizal, of Midwest Military---a great source of info and parts---had such little confidence in my idea to replace the bearing, that he "gave" me a bearing and lined up one of his employees "Al" to drive his M38a1 in the parade----John was right and Al is taking my Korean War vet in the parade
Thanks to John and Al

John is a great guy and I have bought many parts from him, always pleasent and helpful. Thanks john and Al for running back up as I know this will mean alot to him and hopefully his grandaughter will see the better side of what this fine country is all about! Always willing to help a vet in any way I can, it's because of them we can enjoy our hobby and do as we wish! Sorry to hear about your jeep and I hope she is up and running soon.

The parade was a good one. The veterans got the honors that they deserved. People stood, saluted and thanked them for their service.
I was going to wait until winter to overhaul my engine but I could not stand to be without my jeep. I took the block and crank to the shop yesterday
