Hello Gents!
Question... what sanpaper grit should I use for scuffing bare metal for application of self-etching primer?
Looking at working this weekend on the top-bow side brackets while my electical connectors arrive. I have them already in bare metal, but would like to scuff them appropriately in order to have the primer "bite" as required.
Also, should I sand after I prime? What grit here before painting?
Generally finish sanding before paint is 400 to 600 grit. Sanding primer depends on the primer used. These type questions are best answered by your paint supplier or the paint's manufacturer since the answers can vary widely depending on the materials used. _________________ Wes K
