After about a hour between here and G503, I've found that a 1951 M38 only had stars applied as units in the field required. The hood star was 20 inches, point forward, and visable through the windshield glass when down on the hood. I found the ww2 info. for the front bumper, side rear quarters and rear. What are the sizes and locations for the M38? Also, in reguards to paint color, mine had quite a bit of original bottom OD to compare with. I bought and tested 23070 and 24087 from Rapco. Neither matched. 23070 was closest, but is too much gloss, and more yellow green. Believe it or not my WW2 33070 from Rapco was almost perfect. Anyway, you guys paint yours as you want it to look. Not trying to start a arguement here, just stating what I found on mine. Now----- any info. on the other stars??? Wes, Ben, where are you John

I guess I don't know how to do a proper search. After all 62 pages, I can now answer the star question. They had them however the unit was instructed to put them on. Usually they didn't have them at all. They even took them back off at times. Never when they were new at Willys Overland. If you are being judged at a show, you need to have the TM that describes how they are to be installed. That's OK with the judges. I think my hood # and USA will do just fine. I'm seeing stars from all the reading John
