Anybody know where to purchase a new 24volt aftermarket non-military distributor that is compatible with a 51 M38?

Not for the M38. Are MB & GPW distributors compatible to the M38? |

The post WWII M series jeeps use the waterproof large housing distributor with a built in 24 volt coil. The WWII jeeps use a very small (in comparison) diameter 6 volt non water proof distributor with an external coil mounted on the block. So they do not easily interchange.
I find it hard to believe there are no sources in Australia for the stock 24 volt distributor. _________________ Wes K

These later models were not generally used by the services in Australia....there may have been a few that were trialled & left here, but the Austin Chump won out then they did not live up to expectations so they went with the LandRover.
Some MB/GPW's were still in service till the mid 60's as were the White Scout Cars & WLA Harleys by the hundreds....when they sold the bikes off for $250 a piece with <3000 miles! _________________ John GIBBINS
