any advice on inspecting throw out bearing..on the m170. It appears ok and spins ok.How do i inspect it or do i just throw it out and replace with new..?

Aside from the obvious bearing wear indicators: whine, grinding, excessive play, leakage, etc, and should you have the trans /clutch/bell off the vehicle , and your not certain of the bearings age? I'd replace it..
I doubt you'd want to pull that trans again for the sake of a $ 20-$30 part.
While you have access, replace the oil-lite (pilot) bushing in the flywheel.

is there a trick to getting bearing off of casting or do both need to be replaced? _________________ Brian

Yep - I replaced the pilot
