Well summer is here, I'm on holiday so the M38 has been pulled out to try and complete last years jobs.

What should be the gap between the steering column and the dash panel?

After try to fit a duel circuit brake kit and pulling my hair out I now find along with several other problems that the body doesn't seem to sit right, due to the master cylinder in the kit being too big to allow the body to sit properly.

Thanks, Dave.

There is no gap.
Have you tried to loosen the steering box's 3 mounting bolts? The Ross housing has two holes that are slotted and one is fixed, allowing the whole assembly to swing up or down for adjustment.

Ar..... I'll try that.
I checked a photo in the galley here of my M38 after it's first rebuild and there was no gap.
I've come to put it together again and something doesn't line up. I'll check your tip.
Thanks, Dave.
