hi everybody

the time has come to start hunting for parts for my M38a1

I'm looking for seat frames, my A #1 prioridy is a drivers seat so i can move it around in a little more comfort

but i would be intrested in any of the seat frames

they do not have to be 100% correct, they can be CJ

all my jeeps are done to the 20 feet /20 MPH rule

the reminants of my drivers side seat frame look like a cj2a frame because of the leg positioning

the closer to north east Pennsylvaina the better

regards

Mike

The CJ5 driver's seat bolts in differently. It is adjustable forward and aft.
Also later CJ5's had a bolt down pass seat.

The CJ rear seat has feet that slip into brackets built into the rear floor and the A1 rear seat is mounted in brackets on the sides of the wheel houses.

Mike,

I am pretty sure that I have an M38A1 driver's seat out in the shed. I can check this week end. I also have lots of other M38A1 parts. What else do you need? Also, where are you located. Shipping may be high for a seat due to the size. You should update your profile to include your location so we know where you are.

Dave

i know the later cj5 frames were diffrent

the passenger side should be identical to the cj2a and 3a shouldent they??

then bubba cut the backs off and bolted bucket seats on top of the old frames

so now your legs rub the steering wheel Laughing

i'm located in north east pennsylvania

regards

Mike

At some point in the 60's the CJ5 pass seat went to a bolt down setup instead of the hinge brackets on the front top of the tool box.

Happy Thanksgiving, all!

Strokerace, that seat you have for 35 plus shipping -- is it a driver's or passenger seat? Also, for the brains out there, is the passenger seat in a M38A1 the same as the passenger seat in a M38?

Strokerace,

I misread your earlier post. I missed the entire word "back" in your description. I am sorry to say that I need more than just the back. I talked with Hillbilly, and he has what I need, and lives close to where I will be working next week, to boot. I am sorry I can't use what you have, but I am always looking for good M38A1 parts, so keep me in mind, please.
