I was wondering where the best place to test the oil pressure for the motor would be. The feed line to the oil filter or the small plug on the block on the front gallery. My oil pressure gauge is not reading much pressure which concers me. I have changed the gauge with one that a freind had that we knew was good and it still reads the same. I installed a new sending unit and the needle still reads about 10 or so. I need to nip this in the bud before any damage occurs. From what I understand the front gallery is usually the area where most of the wear occurs. I have a new guage that I picked up from autozone to test with, any input would be well received

Thanks, Rob M-38 Jeep MC23945

Just start by screwing the test gage right in the original sender position and run the engine. If she's still 10 pounds then move forward to each of the two 1/8" P plugs on each side of the oil pump and see what she reads in each of those. Then you can go to the front fitting behind the fuel pump which feeds the oil filter and check the reading there at the oil filter inlet hose by "t" ing it in.
