I wish to start a list of technically competent people capable of performing a thorough pre-purchase inspection of a M38/M28A1/M170/CJV35/M606series jeep.
Those interested in getting on the list post this info below or email me the info. You can use your name or your user name but you must list location and at least one contact choice. I will add you to this post's list.

Wes, et al,
I think this is a great idea and probably would be good to list not just on our site, but perhaps get one of the MV magazines to have a listed reputable mechanics and vendors.
Anyway, I connected with Dave Uhrig when I was looking for a jeep. While he didn't physically see it I sent him the descriptions and pictures I was able to get prior to my sale and when I was actually looking at the vehicle. He was extremely helpful and generous of his time and support. As a result I found a jeep in great condition, mostly restored, that needed other mechanical work, but nothing really unexpected.
Dave advertises in most of the MV magazines as he also buys and sells, or facilitates, mainly armored vehicles sales as well as anything else.

I really wish I had access to this before I bought my M38A1. I essentially paid for a frame off restoration, and got instead a vehicle that needed one. _________________ 1952 M38A1
