Not M38's, but these are apparently the remains WW2 jeeps used in Korea. Photo taken approx. 10 years after the korean war (no repro stuff here!).
Can anyone ID the markings on the rear bumpers?
I did find a photo of M38's though. I guess this is the M38's take on an "in-car sound system".
Not sure when this one was taken.

Those 505 uniforms the junior officers are wearing dates the photo older then 1962. The 207XXXXX hood number is a May 1951 M38 unit number. Those WWII MB/GPW's wouldn't have a hood number above the 201XXXX range. Perhaps it is a late transfer from another service after 1950 and had that number assigned.
Surprising the bumper calls out TAC (Tactical Air Command) and only C47's are visible.
Must be a repainted jeep with that odd lettering style.

Looks to be an MB (or GPW). Notice the civvy-style tires too.
The AAFB base code could be:
Altus
Andersen
Andrews
Arnold
Or any others you can think of.

Sorry to say this but the "M-38" in the photo with the 1505's (Tan uniforms) is actually a MB/GPW... 9 slots in the grill, and no indents for the tools on passenger side... Handles on the rear corners...
BTW, I used to love the 1505 uniforms... most comfortable thing to were in the Texas heat... |

The Kahki uniform was our class B summer uniform in the sixties but with short sleeves without tie, US Army.

OK guys I sorted out the typo on the M38 vs MB yesterday so you're a bit late with the ribbing.
To rib back a bit those khakis are what I said they were 505's not 1505's. The 1505's came out in 62 and were a lighter material and came in short sleeve only. The 505's were phased out and went "No wear" around 67. about the 80's the light blue shirt both long and short sleeve and the dark blue wool long sleeve shirts with serge Blue trousers came in for class B.
Over my 22 years USAF I wore them all. Plus 2 years Army Green and Khaki.
