hey guys could someone be so kind to post some detailed pics of there chain kits for the pass seat and top bows for the m38a1. or direct me in the right directionon where to look. thinking of putting this jeep in a show and want it to look right. thxs _________________ 1953 m38a1 1953 m100 |

Wes, these clips you have in the photo are not correct. Wrong chain, wrong clip, wrong attachment on the body.
There is a hole in the bracket to accept one of the peanut style clips to retain the chain. The other end uses a peanut clip with a straight pin attached. The pin is in the hole on the pivot bracket to retain the seat.
Likewise for the top bows. Peanut clip to the small hole on the top bows and the other clip around the body of the wing bolt. Wing bolt is to stay with the bows when placed in the up or down positions.

I think this is what John is referring too (sorry for the crappy photo; it's the only one I have):
That's for a late M38 (I read somewhere once that the early production M38's had no chain, and a slightly different pin). I'm guessing that the M38A1 used the same setup as shown above. _________________ Owen

yep thats what my chain and clip looks like. i know it was a pain, to get the clip around the thumb screw without spreading the clip to much. _________________ 1953 m38a1 1953 m100 |
