Is the crank really damaged or just scored where the piston rods attach?
I ask as I had a L161 Engine for a Willys Wagon and it was scored where the rod bearings had worn and locked the motor up... I took it to a machine shop and they had it welded (adding material) and then machined it back to factory specs...
Just a thought...
Hope this helps... _________________ Hal, KB1ZQ

Yes, The M38 and the M38A1 use the same crank, WO# 646316 bare or 647078 with the set of flywheel bolts & nuts. Keep in mind there both tapered dowell and straight dowell versions of these cranks using the same part number. _________________ Wes K
