I have a 1953 M38A1 body tub and all associated body parts, except the hood, for sale. The fenders are in very good condition, but the body tub and windshield need a decent amount of work. Asking $2000 OBO. Located in South Carolina. I will not ship due to the large size, buyer must pick up.

No offense, but that is wayyy overpriced. I have one (in SC) about 75 -80% complete, that I bought for $300 a couple of years ago (with title). It needs the typical driver floor and has tank well replacement of course. I've been considering selling it for around $1000 since my 'a1 is now finished and I don't need it for parts.
BTW - Welcome to the site! Are you restoring an M-series? _________________ Matt

Gozzola715,
Do you have the seats? Would you sell just those seats? And would you ship them.
Let's give the gentleman a chance to explain his offering. I would not call $2000 way to high until I see photos of what he has and what all the other items he alluded to are. _________________ Wes K

The body is in decent shape. When I say it needs work I mean that the floor on the driver's side is rusted out, the battery well floor is rusted out and the previous owner got into a small accident where he got rear-ended or backed into something. The majority of the paint is still good, the glove box works just fine, the tool box door could use some new hinges. Overall, every thing about the tub could use a good media blast and new coat of paint. The driver's and passenger side front fenders have extremely little rust. If it weren't for the fact that a new body tub for the M38A1 comes with new fenders, I would not be selling my old ones. The windshield has good glass in it, but has a bit of rust around the mounting bolts.
As far as the price, the new body tub I am ordering costs almost $5000, and seeing as how this one is in decent shape, with the amount of body work necessary to repair it, you'd still be way less than that. And I do not know where you got a scrap vehicle for $300, but there is nothing in that ballpark anywhere around me. I do have the seat frames, but they are not for sale, as I will be using them. I have also decided to include the hood in the package, as again the new one I am ordering comes with a new hood.
