Hello, new guy here and I just recently acquired a '53 M38A1... Willys tag #MD74416...about 16k miles on the old girl. I'm still trying to pull info off the data plates...really light markings on those...can't tell if it's an Army or Marine ride. I'll pull it out this weekend and get some pictures posted up so we can all have a look.
I'm in the process of going thru it, but it looks like I'll need floor pans, hat channels and the fuel tank well for sure. I've already picked up the correct carb, but it looks like most everything else is there...so far.
Who do you all recommend for the body parts?
Thanks, |

The list of suppliers is long. I just finished my floors, tank well and floor supports(hat channels). I bent up my own floors and well but I got the channels from classic enterprises. Real good parts too. Classic your dealing with the actual fabricators of these parts not some middle vendor. |

NOT Omix Ada! This means Rugged Ridge too. Trust me and many others on this - spend a little more on the quality US made parts. There are a few surplus parts dealers that are repopping HMV parts now - you can find them in Supply Line and Military Vehicles magazines.
You can thank me later! _________________ Matt

For your front floors I recommend, Midwest Military (http://www.midwestmilitary.net/index.html#topindex) he has floors for the M-38A1 that include the holes for the floor cage nuts and are ready to weld in...
I have not used his floors yet, but getting ready to order a set...
Hope this helps... _________________ Hal, KB1ZQ

I also recommend Midwest Military for all the parts you mentioned needing. I replaced all the hat channel floor supports, passenger floor and fuel tank well with their parts and the fit and quality was excellent. _________________ MVPA #30367

Agree with above - skip Omix Ada if possible and def go to john at MWM first. He's legit. _________________ Greenville, SC
