I've had the steel cut for making a winch mount for my M38A1 for over 6 years now. I'm just too busy to finish it. Does anyone sell a good to excellent quality reproduction? Please either PM me or email jonesal@myuw.net. I'll just buy a reproduction one so I can get the winch and pto off my shop floor.

Thanks,
Al Jones

Not going to be that easy. Only recent source was up in the north east. Vintage Wiring of Maine I believe or someone he knows and Brian's Parts up in Ontario Canada.

If you have the steel cut, just get a local welding shop to finish it up. That's what I did for my M38 winch mount and it turned out great!

By the time I take the vehicle, steel, and winch to the local shop, I probably can have it done myself (not quite). Reproduction time.

Wes, thanks for the suggestions. I'll do some sleuthing and see if I can track those folks down.

A good fabrication shop would be able to complete it very quickly without the jeep as long as you gave them a copy of the drawings.

These are all in my photo album:

A Ramsey winch mount? There is one on eBay now for $450. Repro of course. Just search M38a1 winch mount.

I saw the one on eBay. I think it a poor place to assess my criteria in post No. 1. But thanks for pointing it out none-the-less.

Wes, thanks for posting the drawing.
