I've been eyeing up the cracked flex lines on my M38Cdn and would like to get them replaced sooner than later. Is there a recommended supplier(s) to source these from?

Pete, I bought all oft brake stuff from John at
Midwest Military and was happy with the
products. Just my two cents.

Whoever you buy from make sure you
know if you are buying new replacement, repop
or NOS. Just remember NOS is sixty five year
old material in most cases.

Pete,

Also try George at Army Jeep Parts. I used his and it fit perfectly. It included all the necessary fittings as well. Be careful and don't buy offshore made lines. You will struggle with it. I learned. Good luck.

I bought offshore flex lines and look decent. Haven't put them to the test yet though. But couldn't turn down the $25 price tag on ebay.

Yes I think Steve meant if you are replacing the hard lines from
the knuckle fitting to the cylinder. There are some stories
of fitting issues regarding replacements. One in particular mentioned
hooking up a certain end first. Apparently the other way around
and funky geometry gets you in trouble.

You can just buy a roll of 25 feet continuous brake line and the shorter fittings at Napa , a double flaring tool, and sit down and copy what you take off. That's how I do it. Route it back as original for the best protection from rocks and stumps. Then do the same for the fuel lines. Tools are always handy to have. John

I did what John suggest and to add to Johns post, if you don't have existing lines or they are bent and damaged, you can used bailing wire to make a map where you want lines to go. It bends easy enough to give a shape to follow.

All great advice folks, thanks! I haven't decided if I'm going to go with the flex lines only or the whole shebang? I have experience in making double flared ends so that option is not out of the question. What I have works fine right now, just trying to avoid a breakdown.

If you plan to dump the old military DOT 5 contaminated brake system in favor of a better and easier to maintain Dot 3 or Dot 4 system all the plumbing should be replaced to insure all traces of the silicon based garbage is out of your system.

Roger that Wes! I confirmed with Steve Johnson (Previous Owner) that he converted to DOT3 when the wheel cylinders were done.

If you plan on going with new steel lines and you don't want to make them I have a brand new set from Pete Debella that I can sell you. It includes all the steel lines and clamps.
