Ok, thanks! I have changed my diff fluids to the 80-90 gear oil from Canadian Tire. I have also changed my trans & transfer to a product from Monarch Oils in Kitchener called Transmission 90. It is a straight weight sae 90 transmission fluid specifically for manual transmissions and sells for approx $16 per gal. Thanks all!

I use commonly available 85-90 GL-5 gear oil in the front and rear differentials and Sta-Lube brand 85-90 GL-4 in the transmission and transaxle. Sta-Lube is available on the internet, shipped to my door. GL-4 lubes, appropriate for transmissions containing brass, disappeared from local shelves several years ago. _________________ 1951 M38

Not to get too far off topic, but I've bought two pails of Chevron Gear Oil GL-1 SAE 90, Part#223036, here in Alberta for around $90.00/5 gal. They also offer SAE 140 which probably wouldn't hurt in the front knuckles? _________________ Pete Phillips
