I'm looking for two intervehicular cable clips for my early M100. One goes on the top of the lunette casting and the other on the right side draw-bar. They're listed on page 13 of the M100 Ord9, part number DKI-73-1636, Ordnance part number 7328330, and pictured in Figure 15-1 item E.
Prefer NOS or take-off's, but will fabricate if anybody has a sketch with dimensions. I'm thinking I can start with a regular 1-inch loop clamp and modify it to the open style.

What DOM is your trailer? There are two different IPL's and the one you are quoting is the 1952 ORD 9 SNL G-747 but the TM 9-2330-201-14 has different numbers and FSN's as well. _________________ Wes K

Hi Wes. DOM is 5-51 (in my signature line) and I believe the 1952 Ord9 is correct for the early model with the intervehicular cable that has 2 connectors and gets stowed when not being used in the cable box on the bow of the body. The clips are "open" so the cable slips in and out of them without need for a tool. It looks to me like they're to keep the cable positioned correctly and maybe stop it from bouncing down the road if the connectors were to come loose. They were missing from my trailer when I got it so I've never seen what a real clip looks like. Seeing a photo would be great.
My other trailer, DOM 1-54 doesn't have a stow box and the individual wires on the trailer end of the cable are connected directly into the trailer harness under a sheet metal cover on the right side draw-bar. One clip for that cable is present on top of the lunette casting and it's a full loop closed version (which is a different part number than the early model clip). _________________ Ron D.

Thanks Wes! I have the early TM with that Figure 4 photo, it's the closest thing I have to seeing what the clip really looks like. The dimensions you posted are helpful.
If anybody has a close-up photo of a real clip would be useful to fabricate one as it looks like it has more than a couple of bends with some sort of lip on the bottom edge? I've searched and researched with no joy finding a photo of any early trailer with those clips in place, much less a close-up. Haven't ever seen NOS or take-off advertised either, so a few phone calls are in order.
I'm pretty sure I can fashion something close and functional to use out of a cable loop clamp or a conduit half-strap. I'm just going the last mile to be faithful before rigging a solution.....as it turns out with me usually, the sooner I do, the sooner a NOS or take-off will turn up! _________________ Ron D.

It seems to me they would require some degree of springyness. So you would need a harder springier material then most loop clamps are made of. _________________ Wes K

Reasonable price and pretty close I think, but these are very heavy duty spring steel and must be considerably larger than an original clamp. Had to put the heat to it to open it up a bit to allow the cable to ride snugly without having to force it into the clamp. The original clamp is fastened with a 1/4-20 hex head bolt but I'm using a slotted round head machine screw instead because I think the hex head will tend to cut or rub its way into the cable jacket.
