|
|
Hey all:
Has there been any improvement in the fit of the MD Juan M38 fuel tanks that are new production as of July of 2017? _________________ Brian '51 M38 USMC |

I didn't have any issues with mine when I installed it. Check out my build thread. _________________ Jordan

I had a radiator shop rebuild mine - looks new. He was telling me how many aftermarket tanks they have to fix for clients cuz they just don't fix - seems like fit of filler extension is major issue.
Is your tank so bad it can't be fixed? _________________ Lee Long

Yes, I tried to have TankRenu repair my original tank and it ended up being a 3 trip hassle eventually turning into a refund.
So after TankRenu was finished with it it was so gummed up that trying to salvage it is impossible. _________________ Brian '51 M38 USMC |

I have the original neck extension and screen. Will it fit into the MD Juan tanks? _________________ Brian '51 M38 USMC |

I live in 28,000 population community. Took my tank to both radiator shops, plus about 4-5 different welding shops. None would even think about touching it. (just needed a new bottom)
Found a guy that did some custom chopper stuff and he said, 'sure, I will try and fix it, I like a challenge'! He got the job done.
Depending on where you live, you may struggle finding someone to fix an old tank... _________________ Aaron

Brian,
I don't know where you live but I had Hart's Radiator in Waller TX redo the gas tank for my mule about 6 years ago. They did a good job and I haven't had any problems with it at all. They are a dealer for Gas Tank Renu USA. I guess like a lot of franchise stuff it just depends on the shop but I have been satisfied with the work they did on mine and plan on taking them my radiator next. _________________ R G Mutchler

I will take a second look at my original tank and start making some calls. If I strike out and have to buy a MD Juan tank I will update on the fit and finish of the repro.....
Thanks all! _________________ Brian '51 M38 USMC |
