Hi Guys,
I see folks advertising the jack and handle for the A1. Some have a handle with 1 hinge and others have 2 hinges. Which is the right handle? Also, where was the jack handle stowed? Do either or both handles actually fit in the compartment under the passenger seat?
Wes, I checked your "jeep tools" album and it just had the M38 jack.....is the A1 jack the same.......with the same 2 hinge handle?
Have you compared the part number listings in the ORD, 7, 8 & 9's of both jeeps yet? _________________ Wes K

However if you review the two drawings for these tools they have several PN/StkN changes over the years from 1943 thru the mid 60's.
Even with all the changes over the years this is still the general appearance of the jack you want for either MC, MD, MD-A _________________ Wes K

I bought my jack from a surplus dealer I visited last year for $20, but he didn't have the handle. He had a LOT of M151 parts, so I figured it was an M151 jack, but looked the same as the M38/a1 jacks. I DIDN'T check any #s on it. Later on, I saw a handle on eBay that I bought for $15 (I think) SHIPPED. It also looks a lot like the one Wes has pictured. Again, i didn't check any #s - I'm not like those MB/GPW guys that have to have every part exactly as it came from the factory. I'm more of the "Looks close", but more importantly, "It works and is safe/reliable" type! _________________ Matt

I have been told the double joint handle was early and the single joint was later.I have both but the double joint is easier to get imto my M38 tool box.
