I have the late transistorized turn signal system that does not work. It just does not blink, instead all bulbs just stay on.
I have checked all bulbs and lubricated all connectors so my guess is that the control box is bad. Is there a way to test it and possibly repair it?
BTW, what is the function of the control lever in the upper, locked position? Is it for emergency flashing or what? _________________ Aris

The troubleshooting data available only allows you to troubleshoot down to the assembly causing the issue. We have no technical pubs or parts lists that cover the insides of the two main units.

These are throw away units - if they go bad - they can't be repaired. Just like the electronic voltage regulators. I've replaced a couple in the past. Luckily they are relatively cheap and take all of 5 min. to replace. I've found that there are at least a few shapes/configurations of the flasher box but they all seem to work the same. If they are meant for 24v M38-M38A1-M35, etc. electrical systems, they are interchangeable. _________________ 1951 M38
