Jeff,
Just take your time. I was pretty heated about my aftermarket water pump too. After a few curse words I calmed down and realised the fix was pretty simple. I really like the one piece pulley and I'm happy I got this pump. The original sheet metal pulleys are too delicate but they did and still do work.

You might find you don't even have a problem with your water pump pulley. =O)

PM me if I can be of any help.

~ Matt

I just saw the Aug 7, 2019 post by "jeeptj1" regarding water pump pulley misalignment problems he is experiencing. I had the same problem and posted here on the forum looking for a solution. In looking back at the post I see I never closed the thread with the ultimate solution.... so here it is.

The forum members properly noted that the engine crank pulley was a CIVVIE double pulley - the CJ version is smaller in diameter than the M38, and has 2 different size belt sheaves. I purchased a used correct M38 double pulley and installed it . BINGO, everything aligned perfectly. I think the PO had a matching Civvie water pump so it worked for him.

There are some other good pointers in this thread.
Jeff

I have the same setup with the dual alternator pulley and all. That pulley on the pump places the two belts so close to each other that they rub up at the pump. I'm not going to change it for now but just wish that one piece pulley could have properly spaced the belt grooves apart. Bothers me looking at it!
