Weather still really cold around here. I put on the bibs and went out for about 4 hours.
Removed the axle, leaf springs, brake cable, brake handle (need replace, evt handle), and ID'ing the spot welds holding the frame and body together. I bought a cheap plasma cutter because some of the spot welds are too tight for me to get a cut off wheel (regular electric grinder or my pneumatic one) into the spot safely. I will give that a trigger pull today.
Weird yellow paint under this bracket.
The overall color appears to have been a very light OF and then a darker OD on top. There is a strange undercoat on the bottom.

Bought replacement 10 leaf springs. The originals are flat. _________________ April

The cheap Amazon plasma cutter made short work of cutting the welds holding the frame to the body.
I've got half the floor cut out of the body now, will finish that tomorrow. _________________ April

Stripped the trailer down all the way.
Found the unit markings while I was cleaning it,
Maryland national guard. 729th maintenance battalion. Headquarters 4.
I don't feel bad about painting over ot. I did what any good coastie would do... hide the evidence ot every belonged to someone else.
Need to flip it and paint the top part. It's going to rain tomorrow so maybe the 1st I will. And install the leaf springs and axle again
Was 60 degrees today- wild VA winter weather as usual.
That's all for now. _________________ April

Been two weeks. Not much progress. I am in a Navy school till end of Feb and it was physically exhausting over the last week as we played in the shipboard fire simulator. At 20 it was fun and easy. At 42- my knes, hip and back all felt it daily.
The rims are slightly too big to fit in my sandblast cabinet. So plan B is either pay someone to do it, or plan C just sand down as best I can and paint them. The bead is not in the worst shape and will hold, but they are pretty chewed up.
The frame sits on the saw horses till I mount the tires and rims. I was going to work on the body but it started snowing so I retreated inside.

Took the glass off, put the rims inside and glass back on- sandblast begin.
One rim was super easy to blast, one was time consuming with thick paint that just wouldn't budge.
Got it best I could.
Wemt to base and mounted the tires on the rims.
I did this because I scratched the $&% out of the jeeps when I did it. I did not blast the inside portion- just the faces.
In primer. _________________ April

Make sure you lift with your back not with smarts to get it off the saw horses. Don't ask... I made it happen with a push.
Body tub is floor less.
That's where it sits till I get more time. _________________ April

Hi April,
I bet you're running circles around those Sailors in Damage Control School.
Nice progress on the M100.
YT fan club is asking for more! _________________ Ron D.

Had a free sunny day today and decided to get started on thr body tub.
How about no...... there are a million spot welds from where the old floor is attached to the body.
Cut it off.
Welded on a new piece to this one side. Will do other side tomorrow.

I took these 2 weeks ago- I didn't finish welding yet, but maybe today. I just tacked in the patches. _________________ April

Fitting a floor.
Clamped in place ready to weld. Used some self tappers to suck the rear panel in.
Been busy with work, home and just weather wasn't nice enough to do anything out there. Taking next week off, but lots of other pre-deployment projects to do. _________________ April

Body fit on the frame just fine with a little tweeking of the aft right side.
Up next.... seam seal and paint on the floor.
I have to repair the rail on the corners, strip old paint and prep the rust for ospho. _________________ April

Sanded some more.
Found these markings, from the passenger side. Couldn't make it out in the end.
Sanded for epoxy
Only put epoxy inside the tub. I still need to sand the outside of the tub and buy more epoxy.

Stripped old paint off and banged some dents out. Not perfect- and not intending to.
Ospho the rusty pit areas.
Sanded down the sides.
Cut the two rear top rusted bad corners off
Have metal on standby for tomorrow. Tomorrow first day off with nothing by on my calendar to be at. _________________ April

Probably the strongest part of the trailer.
Ready for more epoxy and to be mated to the frame again. _________________ April
