I have a 1955 M38A1D, was just wondering how many of them are out out there. From what I've read there were probably only about 50 that had the Davy Cocket 120mm Launcher installed on them.

I too have the D version M38A1.It came thru the Kansas Forestry Service in 1989,I have had it since 1993.It had a pretty crude red paint job and had been sitting in the back of some RFD fire station longer than anyone could recall.Odometer showed around 30,000.I'm still running two of what I think must be original Goodyears as they are branded 1952,the spare is a Mohawk and in pretty good shape.Data plate says unit was produced in August of 1952 .I love mine and drive it locally every day from not warm enough in the spring thru getting too cold in the fall.Even pop out now and then in winter when the streets are dry.
