I have a 1954 M38A1 that I restored a few years back as an Air Force jeep. It's the vehicle that was on the cover of Military Vehicles Magazine (Issue #122/Aug 2007). It's been a good vehicle and we went to many shows with it but because of my wife's ongoing medical problems and the fact that we really can't use it or enjoy much anymore, we've decided to let it go. I did a body-off restoration replacing, repairing and straightening metal in panels where needed. I rebuilt the engine, all new brake parts, lines, shoes, silicone fluid. I didn't do anything with the trans/transfer except clean them up and re-use them with new seals installed, etc. It slips out of 2nd gear when coasting but everything else works okay. Jeep has all new Beachwood canvas and a full canvas winter enclosure. Jeep is completely stock and original with all the pioneer tools in place and everything electrical works as it should. Under-hood areas, underside and wheel wells are painted 24087 semi-gloss OD while the exterior is painted Air Force Strata Blue with the appropriate markings. This was typical as the vehicles would have been OD when received and the Air Force would have top coated them with the Strata Blue. I have an extra starter, generator and regulator and whatever else may be sitting around left over from the sale of all my other parts. I'm asking $15,000 and we're located in South-Central Wisconsin. I don't know how to add photos to this site but I'll be happy to e-mail any upon request.
