Hi Guys,
I'm out here in Afghanistan and I have both my front and rear, 1952 M38A1 axles that need an overhaul when I get back to the states.

Now, I am asking if anyone out there knows of a mechanic that can really refurbish/restore my axles to original condition? They are the original axles from a 1952 M38A1 Willy's Jeep and they have drum brakes:

"The front axle is a Spicer (now Dana) 25 full-floating axle while the back is a Spicer 44 semi-floating axle."

I want them to be good as new and done fast, but at a realistic pace. I am not a purist and don't need the original 1952 NOS parts when the same part is at the local auto store for far less money. I really want to drive my Jeep in the summer of 2012

Qustions/Comments- Please, feel free!

Thank you,
Mike

PS- I live in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Can't recommend a specific place except to say they are there, probably right down the road from your jeep. Hampton Roads has a good sized military vehicle club, or at least used too, maybe they could help. I think it won't be to hard to find someone.
