Not the brackets. Not the brackets.
The threads inside the frame for the front shackles are stripped. The previous owner had swapped out to modern H shackles.
Anyone have instructions on how to get the frame insert out? And who has the best insert to replace? Any NOS out there? _________________ 47 CJ2A "Bugger"

Has anyone done this before? I ground down the visible welds, but the bushing will not budge.
I'm beginning to suspect that it's actually part of the boxing, like it was all welded together before the boxing was welded to the inside of the frame rail. _________________ 47 CJ2A "Bugger"

Some of the weld will usually penetrate past the surface into the boxed area. You may have to grind the edges of the bushing down to a depth of about 1/2 the thickness of the side walls of the frame.
Then using a 1/2" drive socket or a piece of steel round stock that matches the outside diameter of the white circle drive the old bushing out. _________________ Wes K
