How much is a title to an m38a1 worth? Assuming you don't have the jeep or data plates that go with it? Also, what should someone pay for a set of data plates but no title? Is the set of dash plates valuable? Thinking about searching for one but don't know what they should go for. Couldn't find any on eBay.

You are dabbling in an area where there are not clear cut lines of what is honest and what is dis-honest. Also what is legal and what is illegal.

Assuming both the seller & buyer are honest and above board and the states involved in the transaction allow the sale of documents only or serial plates only you still run the risk of having a serial number that you take to a DMV already in use by someone else.

I have seen this cause a great deal of trouble and tie up jeeps for long periods of litigation.
