So even though i have all the M38 manuals which has almost all the info I need and love to spend my time browsing through them, i just couldn't turn down a $5 Chilton's manual

Thanks guys. The only downside is finding the areas that actually pertain to my application as there are many different engines, transmissions etc covered in the manual.

That's a problem common to most Chilton type manuals. They try to cover way too many models and lack a great deal of the detail that is needed by a novice restorer to keep them pointed in the right direction. They can never replace a proper and more model specific factory service manual.

Just picked up an original Jeep service manual, covers CJ2-CJ5 , the images are so much better than photocopies. I have an M38 but enough in common to make it worth buying.

As Wes has pointed out the Civvy manuals can have more detail in the various
operations and are a good resource side by side with the M-series manuals.
