Will a YS-1-897 carb fit a M38-A1, I sure need a carb. for a 1953. Thanks for the help. Laughing

I believe the 897 was for a generator application aprox 1952.

That looks like the casting # off the throttle body of a YS-950S carb, which is the carb you want.


The YS950S is on the left in this photo.

Careful where you shop these carb cores. I have kept patient and have found several cores the last few years priced reasonably between $15 & $40 at car shows and jeep get togethers.

Still don't know exactly what you have Don. I do see a WO 897s on the applications list. Can you post a pic??

It's not what he had. It's what he saw on Ebay. The top corner tag was missing and the seller labeled it using the 1-897 off the throttle body casting and then added the YS of the bowl casting.
