Maybe it's just me, but I've had enough of these rubber tie-rod boots that are so commonly sold by many vendors. They all look the same to me. They all come in unmarked packages. It's hard to tell who the real culprit is, but I suspect <fill in the blank you know who>.
Yes, they don't cost a ton of money for what should be a simple part to make with more than an ounce of quality, but after spending about $4 each (delivered), this last set is splitting before I even install the tie-rods! WTF over! Total garbage. At least the first set I bought waited until I installed them. I sure hope this rubber crapola isn't Made in the U.S.A.
From here on out I'm going with the OEM Willys style metal cups and springs. The repop set supplied by JMP for about the same price as the rubber looks pretty good to me. Supposed to authentic early M38 to boot. Anything is an improvement. I'll let you know how they work out.
