Tom, there is just a little history on WWII jeeps with dual tires. I have a couple of photos of dual tire jeeps... one at Aberdeen that is shown in the "Rare WW2 Jeep" book and another in the Pacific used on an ambulance jeep.
They are basically a spacer with 5 sex nuts on each side. They spacers are so short that you have to turn the outside wheel around to mount the outside tire.
Try as I have there has yet to be anyone so far that has seen another set of the short spacers and nuts. There was some article either here or on G503 showing a later longer spacer used during Korea.

The fenders are WWII MBT trailer fenders... modified a bit. ![Wink](modules/Forums/images/smiles/icon_wink.gif) _________________ 1944 MB-NAVY-

so are those just really long wheel studs that go through the dum and both wheels? or a special stud/nut combo? also how long are the adapters? |

Mark - I have towonder if they went to the longer adapter because the wheels are stamped to have the lug nuts tighten on the outside of the rim and not the inside. |
