When I get my M38A1 finished I am painting mine with TX national guard markings from 1957.

Every one always seems to choose front line combat units and I wanted to do some thing different by selecting markings common with older equipment getting close to retirement.

By going with a 1957 markings on a 1952 all the little dings and motor pull repairs match in perfectly with mine.

I wanted one that looks like it worked for the Army for living rather then be a off the factory newborn.

As I recall from your pictures your Jeep looks pretty nice as is.

I also prefer the utility look and I'm going with a lusterless paint which is not very pretty but I like it. Also I can touch up every couple years w/o having to worry about runs & blemishes. I guess lusterless is not the best for protection so I'll have to use some good primer.
