Hi,
According to the SNL G-740 (and Ryan's book) there were two manufacturers of horns for the M38- Auto-Lite and Sparks-Withington. I was cleaning off the paint on the data plate of the horn on my 1951 M38 and found this data plate from E. A. Laboratories, Inc. It has the correct Ord. No. (7728341) for an M38 horn. Could there have been a third company supplying horns to Willys or is this a horn from another vehicle (it looks to be original to this jeep).
Thanks, Kendall

There were many hoen suppliers over the years to the US Army. The two mentioned in Ryan's book are the only two that were installed by Willys dirign the production of the M38. Over the years many different horns made their way into these M38's.
