I was wandering if the physical size of the Ramsey 50 and the Ramsey KX200 were the same or not.I have a KX200 and would like to use it if it could be installed without damaging the jeep to do so.I would also need a drive shaft setup I have the PTO and winch but no shafts. |

Physical size between the winches is not the same.
Yes you can install a 200 series winch without damaging the jeep. _________________ SteveJ

I think it might be tough to use the 105A pto unless you have the military shafts and hanger to go with it. (both difficult and expensive to obtain) The path it follows is too tight. When i had the 200 series on my M38 the longer drop of the civy PTO ( ramsey or Koeinig )allows a more direct path to the winch input shaft. ( though the exhaust as Wes indicated needs to be modified) Thus with the civy shafts you could get away with a short one to a civy hanger bearing and then one long one up to the winch eliminating the need for the spined segement and joint. The civy styly u-joints are a lot larger than the mil ones and take up more room.
You can mount the 200 in a angle iron frame and using the exsisting military winch frame bolt points. It needs to sit low in the frame like the 73A or 50 does so the universal at the winch input shaft will clear the steering gear at lock to the left if i remember. The winch engage lever on the 200 series normally comes on the side up against the grill but this can be switched also without too much trouble.

There is a local fellow wanting to sell a Civy Ramsey 200 winch to me. I am just not aware of value. Jut the winch itself, not PTO, shafts or mounting brackets. Any help?
