OK im going to make my own hood blocks. Anyone have some measurements for the m38. Also do i use oak?

1 inch wide, 4 inches long, 1 3/4 high. Oak. Usually painted OD. The originals were counter bored down where the screws are. If you don't get them 1 3/4 high, the wiper arms hit the hood. I didn't counter bore, used flat stainless 10-32 screws with nylocs. No crud down in the hole, and the nuts don't fall off when the wood shrinks some, and are easy to snug up. CJ3A's use that size also. If you are worried about the Jeep Police, counter bore them. John |

If you are putting the later vaccum motors on with the longer stems, be careful if you put the windshield down on your newly painted hood. The blocks may need to be taller. The stock ones just clear at 1 3/4 inches. John |

There on. nothing had to be removed or moved, and nothings rubbing. Thanks for the measurements.
