I'm really torn about either keeping or selling my M38A1 I recently picked up. We are planning on moving soon and I have two other current projects I'd like to finish. I'd feel much better selling it to someone who will appreciate it and I know won't paint it yellow and throw boggers on it. Original 24v system, most all parts there, tub in excellent shape minus back panel. Only minor surface rust in back of tub, nothing a sandblasting won't take care of. Frame has no rust / rot or any "bubba" mods that I can see. Engine appears to be rebuilt at one point but will need rebuilding. Trans / t-case possibly rebuilt though clean and painted doesn't mean much as I found out. Some new parts here and there, some parts already blasted and primered. Only major missing parts is a tail light, generator, set cushions, and gauges. Photos below...
If I don't have any takers I'll probably try and keep it. May just have to go into storage until I finish my other projects. Not enough time in the day... If you have questions please IM / email / post. Thanks!
*UPDATE*
I've decided to just keep the jeep. I've already completely taken it apart down to the frame (minus engine). I'm done with my Jeep Comanche truck rebuild so I can devote my wrenching time to the M38.

I can't buy your Jeep, but I know how you feel. I still get aggravated because of the changes previous owners have made. I get the impression that my M38 was treated pretty badly, was "mudded" heavily, subjected to extreme off-roading (judging by the rub marks under the wheel wells.) It was a wonder it survived. Still, it was in remarkable shape when I found 'im. There is still mud everywhere in places I can't get to to clean it out! Everytime I attempt to work on it, here comes out wads of dirt, dadblame it! Oh, well, Old "Willy" is semi-retired now. So long as I own him, there'll BE no nonsense like that. Oh..........I might follow a very mild power line trail IF I can do so without getting into trouble for trespassing, but the ditch-jumping and mud holes are OUT. Willy came out to "play" in the snow when my pickup got stuck, and I HAD to get out for a bit. He crawled up my driveway on the icy snow like it was nothin'! Other than that, he "sleeps" quietly in his garage and goes on short Sunday drives. I love watching the people, especially the Wrangler folks, give me the thumbs up and just GRIN as I go by.
