I have side to side looseness of my brake pedal arm to the point that the pedal will overlap the accelorator pedal. Is there a fix for this other than repalcing the pedal arm and/or pedal arm shaft?

Thanks

The correct method is to replace the bushings in the pedal support and the shaft if it needs replacing. If you use the search function here one of our members just covered this task in great detail.

For the lazy folks Willys marketed a band aid kit in the 50's that was simply a long tie bolt that went right thru the center of the pedal shaft and had a pair of large cupped washers that applied pressure to the outboard sides of the assembly forcing them closer together.
