The military as a rule always trash canned wheeled vehicle records when they were surplussed out.
The only clues to the assignment history of your jeep are those you dig up.
1-Carefully remove paint so you can record all unit numbers and symbols.
2-Constantly review historical web sites for photos of your model jeep. Jeeps were usually sent to their new units in batches and usually the hood numbers were in sequence or very close. You may stumble on a photo of a jeep with a hood number close to yours. _________________ Wes K
