The mechanical vacuum/fuel pump in my 52 M38A1 is corroded and needs much TLC.

I have two questions.

The lower section of the pump contained a small amount of oil. Perhaps I have misunderstood something. I thought the vacuum system was dry. Is there supposed to be a lubricant in this system?

In any case the pump needs attention. Is there any particular vendor you would recommend for a rebuild kit, or to do the rebuild for me?

I am dead in the water with my restoration right now. Any advice or suggestions is greatly appreciated.

Here is some general info: http://www.cj3a.info/tech/fuelpump.html

These folks have received good recommendations from others who have been in your situation http://www.maritimedragracing.com/antique_auto_parts_cellar.htm

Good luck!
