So, my shiny new NOS engine lifting bracket arrived today. Very Happy In trial fitting it looks great, except that my crossover tube doesn't fit anymore. Sad
Here's the pictures (try not to ridicule my choice of engine color too much.):

I think the crossover tube mounting bracket is out of alignment (you don't say?). It looks like it needs to move forward, but also needs to angle upward too (so the fording valve lines up with the oil filler tube port). Can anyone provide a photo of the angle of their crossover tube bracket that I can compare with this shot:

Thanks in advance,
Owen.

You have to tweek it to your application. In other words, bolt it down and bend it to line up with things. It's a tight fit on mine also. John

I got this from Tomm, so I'm assuming it's correct! I agree with Oilleaker1, some bending is necessary. Yours seems pretty close to correct.

Thanks for the info folks. After some minor persuasion (as Oilleaker1 suggested) here's the outcome:

Might not be 100% factory spec, but it's close enough for me. Very Happy

Thanks again,
Owen.

Are the studs for the lifting bracket the long ones to allow for the thickness of the bracket. Looks like a couple of studs are a bit short!

Pat is correct. There should be at least 1 1/2 threads showing above the nut.

Well spotted! In fact, all three studs are short.
At some point in the life of this engine, the long studs were moved to the front of the block, where the oil filter bracket sits. I just haven't got round to swapping them back yet.

Another item on my seemingly never ending to-do list. Wink

Quite right! After the pain of getting the old ones out, it makes good sense to put new in.

Owen.
