I'm working on refurbishing the left door for my M38A1 (and still searching for a right side frame) since as you can see in the picture, the window is "slightly" cloudy and the canvas is weathered.

My question is who would those who have recently purchased door canvas recommend as a supplier for a set of new door canvas? Not looking for the cheapest supplier but prefer a good fit and proper weight of canvas for long life.

Also for what its worth, I've been looking at the various door frame question posts here and several asked about a "socket" or bracket for the bottom of the door frame to fit into. I saw on the door frame I have there is a washer welded to the lower door "hinge pin" which keeps the door from drooping or dropping too far into the hole in the body. Not a great revelation but I thought I'd pass that along for those making their own frames.

My vote goes to WeeBee Webbing. Never heard anything bad about them. Since you have a good base to copy from, you could venture and make your own. If you have the means.

I have the means...time to find out if I have the skill. Cut, bend, weld, start over.....

The trickiest part looks to be working out the contour.

I'll post pics of my efforts if Wes doesn't ban me.

And why would I ban you?

Reverse engineer your existing door and copy it. You are way ahead of the game since you have a original example. Bretto made his and you can't tell them from the real deal. John

Because my questions seem to elicit a response from you that I'm not trying hard enough to locate an answer through looking at the photo albums/manuals before posting a question on the site.

I do look there first, but I don't always find what I'm looking since either I missed it or the information from only those two sources doesn't exactly provide what I'm looking for.

But I do appreciate your time and effort in maintaining this site.
