For the dash it was WO # 806674 Plug, Button 3/4" (instrument panel primer pump hole ) (Used on vehicles after MC47771)
I would guess the firewall hole had the same plug but there's no ORD 9 entry for it. The late firewall has the stamped hole in exactly the same place. I don't think the bothered using knockouts.
Zane,
Knockout plugs were stamped right into the metal skin of the firewall. They were similar to the semi punched out knockouts in electrical power boxes. The snap-in or push-in round plug with spring fingers are called plugs not knockouts and the M38 and the M38A1 used the same plugs. _________________ Wes K

yeah i know the knockout plugs were part of the body but i thought maybe a snap in plug in his case would be an easy cheap substitute instead of trying to find a round metal insert to tack weld in from the back side of the dash
