Even though this factory delivery lot photo is black & white you can see the tubes match the windshield and the mounting clamps are cadmium plated and appear much lighter. _________________ Wes K

Wes, thanks for the great photo! It answers several
questions for me. I am curious about the 23-xxxxxx
prefix on the hood number. Can you tell me more
about that?
The Army hood number or vehicle registration system used the first two digits for vehicle classification. 20xxxxx represented the scout car class. In the photo 2389019 equals a 20 class vehicle and it has the 389,019 th registration number used. There is no - "23-xxxx" by the way. _________________ Wes K

When do you suppose the hood numbers increased to eight digits on jeeps? _________________ Tropical Veteran

I heard on the TV that Texas is going to seven digits on the liscense plates. I think it's going to happen this year. I guess they will be using seven of the eight numbers I have on my hood as the registration number. _________________ Tropical Veteran
