Fellow Jeep Lovers;
I have a story and a request. My mom died a couple of years ago. Last Christmas my wife and I were going through some of her pictures and we found a picture of her before she was married that I have posted below. She was more than likely visiting her brother at some Army base. A friend of mine enhanced the picture and added color. I am guessing the picture was taken in 1943. The Jeep had to be almost new at that time. My mom was waiting for the war to get over to marry my dad. They married in 1945 and I was born in 1948. Any information anyone could provide on the Jeep would be greatly appreciated. There is no one left alive that is in the picture. They are her brother and sister. All of them were my favorites. Sure wish I would have found this picture a few years back. My mom knew my love for Jeeps but she must have forgotton about this picture.

This link will go to the full size:

Thanks for any information you might have to offer.

Bob

Bob,
I took the liberty of inserting the full size photo for you. Was your mom still living in the Waverly IL area then?. I ask because it is obviously an Army post but if you can narrow down the state where it may be you can run it by the nearby Army post historians.

Thanks Guys for the feedback.

Wes,
My mom was still living in Waverly, IL at that time. My wife seems to think it may have been Camp Forest, Tennessee. I think that is based off of my wife hearing my mom talking about it at one time. It may have been in the Springfield, IL area also because the 3 people in that picture are brothers and sisters and a more local trip to the Springfield area would seem more feasible to me. The picture did not show up in the full size you posted. That maybe due to my computer but thought I would mention it.

Again thanks for all the efforts on this so far.

Bob
