Are some of the M38 large multi-toggle light switches sealed units? My original switch came apart for cleaning/repairs, but the replacement I recently received does not. Were both types used on the M38?

Bendix-Scintilla provided the first two models of the Black Out Light Switch assembly for the Army. These were completely rebuildable and serviceable and their parts were often listed in each of the vehicle ORD 9's. The later Unicite switches could be dis-assembled but no repair procedures or parts were made available for them. They were the beginning of the Army's policy to utilize throw away types. Then they were later supplied with no easy access to their internals. Finally the Army went to the push button version about 8 years ago. _________________ Wes K
