The only gauge that works is my speedometer. All the others don't work at all.
So I was using my fuel gauge as a starting point for the test since it was the easiest for me to get to.
It passes all the test up to test E. On test E. under section 5 gauges and wiring it ask for you to put the negative terminal on the gauge's case and you should get a voltage reading. I get nothing. How exactly do you ground the case of the gauge?
Sorry if these are dumb questions, i have never worked on gauges before.
The rear side of the cluster panel and the gage housings and gage brackets were all bare cadmium plated steel originally. Paint and rust are what prevents good grounding.
The longer screws are screwed into their normal position fastening the dash light housing then add a nut to back side and tighten it up. Then put you ground jumpers on the bolt and add a washer and a second nut. _________________ Wes K
